My Korean Skin Care Routine

Today I want to share with you guys all about my Korean Skin Care routine. If you've been following me or the blog for a while you should already know my addiction about Koreans and Korea in general so you probably understand how excited I am, right?

So I don't know how much you know about Koreans but Beauty for them is quite a big deal specially when it comes to the skin, I invite you to google ''Korean skin'' so you could have an idea of their standards on skincare. They are known for their clear, pale, dewy, bright skin. I was so amazed by how incredibly good their skin looked I wanted to try that out myself.

First thing you need to know before starting your own Korean Skincare regime is you must be committed to your skin and prepare to give some serious love to your face, be consistent and specially be aware that this is not like the regular ''Night routines'' you know about, the cleanser, toner, moisturizer and VOILA! my skin is perfect, yeah.. not.

My Korean skincare routine consists on several steps, 7 or 8 to be exact. When I started it I was a little bit overwhelmed by the amount of products they use before going to sleep, I completely thought about the occasions when I come late at home, am I suppose to apply all those stuff being this tired? Umm, well.. yeah!. That's exactly why I mentioned you must be committed to your skin and to be honest, that's what I've been doing since I received my products, I've applied every single one of them every single night and WOW to the results.

Thanks to Peach and Lilly I was able to get to know most of the products I'm about to introduce to you. Thanks to them I received a custom made Korean skincare routine designed by their licensed in-house estheticians specially for my skin concerns, how amazing is that?

So finally, What my K-Beauty regime is all about?

Each evening we should double cleanse the skin so it could effectively break down the makeup. With some drops of the product I massage it into my dry skin and then add some water to emulsify the oil. It will clean the surface of the skin and will go deeper into the pores.

This one is Mizon's No.1 King's Berry Cleansing Oil it nourishes and cleanses the skin. Antioxidants like chokeberry extract, mushroom extract  and nori extract leave the skin bright and healthy. Jojoba oil, sunflower oil and meadowfoam seed oil condition and hydrate. The combination of these ingredients help to remove makeup and dirt while improving the overall condition of the skin.

After my cleansing oil I use the Aromatica Sea Daffodil Cleansing Mousse formulated with gentle cleansing amino acids, it helps control excess oil with astringent lemon and bergamot oil. It brightens and softens the skin with papaya which mattifies the skin. I particularly love the citric smell this product has.

I always follow my cleanser by toning my skin since it helps restore the pH balance after cleansing. Toning help to keep skin smooth by removing dead skin cells as well. The one I'm using is the Be the skin Botanical Pore Toner which controls oil and mattifies the skin without drying it out, what I consider a big thing. This toner contains Alaskan glacier water to soothe the skin and add a light touch of moisture, how cool is that? Alaskan glacier water?. It also protects the skin and prevents breakouts.

An essence is a staple of the Korean skincare regimen. Generally essences have a lightweight yet hydrating consistency, and they help to aid in product absorption. It will boost the effectiveness of all the products you apply thereafter.  The one that goes best for my skin is the Green Tea Brightening Essence green tea is a highly effective antioxidant preventing the signs of aging and protecting against free radical damage which is of course always a good idea.

Follow the essence with a serum. Serums contain highly effective, potent ingredients that produce great results if used consistently, remember what I told you about serious love to your skin?. I apply one or two drops of serum into my palm and pat it into my face and neck. You have the option to layer different serums together that's why I showed two in the picture, just make sure to apply the serum with the thinnest consistency first.

The one I'm talking about today is the Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule since I already made a whole post about my Skininc daily dose custom-blended serum to read about it click here

The Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule  comprised 80% snail filtrate, it is effective at treating a variety of skin concerns like acne scarring, breakouts, uneven texture and fine lines/wrinkles. It also gently exfoliates the skin to reveal the brighter, healthier, more youthful layers of the skin.

The next step is eye cream, you thought we were over already? don't worry we have a couple more steps to go *giggles*.

Girls, eye cream is a very necessary step because the skin beneath the eyes is the most delicate on the body and requires special attention. It helps hydrate the eyes, brighten eye circles (raise your hand if you need this as much as I do) and reduce fine line or prevent since you know we're still young. I tap a fingertip's worth of the product.

The one I'm using is the Aromatica Rose Absolute Eye Cream is moisturizing, gentle, and anti-aging. Contains antioxidant Bulgarian rose oil to soothe and soften, argan oil for extra hydration, shea butter, for deep, long lasting softness. I love this thing so much because you truly feel a difference after a couple of days, you definitely notice the softness on your under-eye area.

Moisturizer is the next step on the regimen, keeping the skin properly hydrated is the key to healthy skin. Without it the skin can become sensitive, flaky and red. Moisturizing will ensure the skin balance and prevent the formation of fine lines, you are getting the secret girls so stop whatever you're doing right now and go moisturize that beautiful face of yours!

The one I'm loving and adoring is the Cremorlab Fresh Water Gel is a very, very lightweight moisturizer that soothes and tones the skin. Containing calming camellia, healing and hydrating Bulgarian rose as well as the eye cream.

Koreans increase the skin benefit by exfoliating the skin 2-3 times a week to keep the skin bright, smooth and healthy, preventing the pore from getting clogged, boost circulation, fade hyperpigmentation which was a KEY for me and remove dead skin cells of course.

This is the little baby I've been using it's the Mizon Honey Black Sugar Scrub is a gentle exfoliator that contains a multitude of beneficial ingredients. Honey as you know is a soothing, lightly moisturizing ingredient that is antibacterial which clear up any breakouts you are experiencing. Black sugar powder buffs dead skin off the face, revealing the new brighter, healthier layer of the skin underneath. It also have Vitamin E, mango butter, green tea extract and grape seed oil and the best part of all is you can use it on the rest of your body as well leaving your skin flawless!

Last but not least, following exfoliation, comes probably the most fun step of all and the one you are used to see everywhere the famous ''Sheet Mask''  they recommend to use them 2-3 times a week after your exfoliation, to treat the skin with more potent, powerful ingredients. After using a mask, you will see visible results in the tone,  specially the texture and brightness of the skin.

There are a lot of brands and  masks for practically every skin type and concern.  I'll be doing a whole post about the sheet masks they provided me since they are a few so I could make a proper review of them.

And That's it guys! Here's all you need to know about the Korean Skincare routine specially my regimen, hope you made it this far and read everything, because this is magic right here! No more excuses for bad skin and frustration about skin concerns.
